The know-how and freedom of a French independent perfumer.

Marie Urban Le Febvre, originally from Paris, is among the rare perfumers endowed with an exceptional sense of smell, a deep intuition, and a refined understanding of people.

As a perfumer-creator, she composes distinctive olfactory creations — both inventive and precisely constructed. Her work is guided by a unique balance between classical training and the creative freedom of independence, allowing her to orchestrate bold and meaningful scent experiences.

After studying chemistry, Marie graduated from the prestigious ISIPCA perfumery school in Versailles in 2000. She began her career in Paris within international fragrance houses, refining her craft alongside master perfumers at Symrise and later at Takasago.

Driven by a desire to fully express her olfactory vision, she became an independent perfumer in 2014, founding Urban Scents in Berlin, and later establishing her creative studio in Trieste in 2023. There, she explores new dimensions of scent composition within her fragrance laboratory.

Her creations bridge the heritage of classical French perfumery with the vibrant, multicultural energy of contemporary cities, as well as a deep connection to nature.

Alongside developing her own collections under Urban Scents, Marie collaborates with brands, museums, and interdisciplinary research projects, bringing her expertise to the crossroads of art, science, and culture.

Committed to transmission, she teaches at ISIPCA, shaping the next generation of perfumers. She is a member of the International Perfumer Creator Association and of the Osmothèque — the world’s foremost perfume archive — where she serves both as Osmothécaire and Secretary General.

In her free time, Marie pursues her passion for flying as a private pilot and, following years of research, published her book Risking and Resisting.
